Introduction

DayTap ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our daily check-in safety app.

Information We Collect

We collect the following information to provide our service:

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and improve the DayTap service:

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate DayTap:

These services have their own privacy policies governing how they handle data.

Data Security

We take data security seriously:

Data Retention

We retain your data only as long as necessary to provide the service. When you delete your account, all your data—including check-in history, guardian information, and account details—is permanently deleted from our systems.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

Guardian Consent

When you add a guardian to your account, you confirm that you have their consent to share their contact information with us and to send them notifications on your behalf. Guardians receive a welcome message when added and can contact us to request removal.

SMS Text Messaging

DayTap sends SMS text messages to guardians who have opted in to receive them. By verifying a phone number through our SMS verification link and providing explicit consent via the on-screen checkbox, a guardian consents to receive text messages from DayTap.

How Consent Is Obtained

When a DayTap user adds a guardian's phone number, we send a single verification SMS containing a unique link. The guardian must tap the link and actively check a consent checkbox (unchecked by default) on our website before they are enrolled to receive alerts. The consent language clearly identifies DayTap as the sender, describes the types of messages, discloses that message frequency varies and message & data rates may apply, and provides opt-out instructions. No alert messages are ever sent to unverified numbers or to recipients who have not provided explicit consent.

Types of Messages

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on the DayTap user's check-in activity. Guardians may receive up to 5 alert messages per enrollee within a 7-day period, plus corresponding all-clear messages. Typical usage is fewer than 5 messages per month.

Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier for details about your messaging plan.

How to Opt Out

You can opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message from DayTap. You will receive a confirmation message and no further SMS messages will be sent. You may also reply STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT to opt out. You may opt back in at any time by replying START.

Help

For help with SMS messages, reply HELP to any message from DayTap or contact us at [email protected]. You can also visit daytap.app/sms for full program information.

Mobile Information Sharing

No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Children's Privacy

DayTap is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. To exercise your rights, contact us at [email protected] or use the in-app account deletion feature.
