Introduction
DayTap ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our daily check-in safety app.

We collect the following information to provide our service:
- Account Information: When you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple ID email address and, if you choose to share it, your name.
- Check-in Data: Timestamps of when you tap "I'm OK" in the app.
- Guardian Contact Information: Email addresses, phone numbers, and Telegram usernames of the emergency contacts (guardians) you add to your account.
- Device Token: Your Apple Push Notification service (APNs) token, used to send you reminder notifications.
- Subscription Status: Information about your subscription status to manage access to premium features.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide and improve the DayTap service:
- Check-in Tracking: To monitor your daily check-ins and determine if you've missed your check-in window.
- Alert Notifications: To notify your guardians via email, SMS, and/or Telegram if you haven't checked in within your chosen timeframe.
- Push Reminders: To send you reminders when your check-in window is approaching.
- All-Clear Messages: To notify your guardians when you check in after an alert has been sent.
- Product Feedback: If you opt in via the "Help Us Improve" setting, we may occasionally contact you by email to ask about your experience with DayTap. This is entirely optional and can be turned off at any time in the app.

Data Security
We take data security seriously:

- All data is encrypted at rest on Cloudflare's secure infrastructure.
- We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information.
Data Retention
We retain your data only as long as necessary to provide the service. When you delete your account, all your data—including check-in history, guardian information, and account details—is permanently deleted from our systems.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: View all data we have about you within the app.
- Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data at any time through the app settings.
- Correction: Update your information, including your name and guardian contacts, within the app.
Guardian Consent
When you add a guardian to your account, you confirm that you have their consent to share their contact information with us and to send them notifications on your behalf. Guardians receive a welcome message when added and can contact us to request removal.
SMS Text Messaging
DayTap sends SMS text messages to guardians who have opted in to receive them. By verifying a phone number through our SMS verification link and providing explicit consent via the on-screen checkbox, a guardian consents to receive text messages from DayTap.
How Consent Is Obtained
When a DayTap user adds a guardian's phone number, we send a single verification SMS containing a unique link. The guardian must tap the link and actively check a consent checkbox (unchecked by default) on our website before they are enrolled to receive alerts. The consent language clearly identifies DayTap as the sender, describes the types of messages, discloses that message frequency varies and message & data rates may apply, and provides opt-out instructions. No alert messages are ever sent to unverified numbers or to recipients who have not provided explicit consent.
Types of Messages
- Verification: A one-time message when a user adds you as a guardian, containing a link to confirm your consent.
- Alert: Sent when a DayTap user misses their check-in window and you are listed as their guardian.
- All Clear: Sent when a DayTap user checks in after an alert was sent, confirming they are okay.
Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on the DayTap user's check-in activity. Guardians may receive up to 5 alert messages per enrollee within a 7-day period, plus corresponding all-clear messages. Typical usage is fewer than 5 messages per month.
Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier for details about your messaging plan.
How to Opt Out
You can opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message from DayTap. You will receive a confirmation message and no further SMS messages will be sent. You may also reply STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT to opt out. You may opt back in at any time by replying START.
Help
For help with SMS messages, reply HELP to any message from DayTap or contact us at [email protected]. You can also visit daytap.app/sms for full program information.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
